Survey Equipment System

Survey Equipment Security System

Tech Overview: Datadots®

The typical surveying equipment insurance policy may help to pay for a new Theodolite or Laser Level if it is stolen from your commercial property or vehicle, but nothing can compensate for the amount of time you'll have to spend having to replace these items - not to mention the stress associated with being burgled. By the time you have dealt with the insurance company's automated telephone system, given all the relevant details to the Police and then spent a day or two trying to organise replacement goods and rescheduling work, you'll wish you had fitted Datatag in the first place.

As they say, prevention is better than cure, and our aim is to deter the thieves with a Datatag warning decal so that they don't even bother stealing your property in the first place.

Consisting of the all new unique tamper evident asset management ultra destruct warning labels, this system also incorporates stealth UV etching which permanently marks your equipment even if the label is damaged or removed. This gives your equipment an electronic "fingerprint". Datatag is recognised as being one of the UK's leading anti-theft systems. Thieves know that Datatagged property is simply too hot to handle, and once they see your property is protected they will usually go looking for an easier target.

FAQs

Most survey equipment is stolen by professional criminals. Even the latest alarms and locks do not always deter criminals although the more measures you take - the better. It's therefore essential that all Theodolite and Laser Levels are protected and registered with a Datatag security system. Criminals know it's virtually impossible to defeat the multi-layered Datatag system and as such Datatagged assets become too risky.
Datadots are transparent microscopic plastic discs (less than 1mm in diameter) printed with a unique alpha numeric code and listing Datatag's telephone number. There are hundreds within the system and they are applied in hidden places on all your valuable property. Only one is required to prove ownership therefore a thief would have to be 100% confident that they had found and removed every single one to avoid detection and prosecution.

Please advise the Police immediately, then contact Datatag quoting your membership number and the crime report number the Police have given you, and we will flag a warning against your vehicle on our database.
