CHEETAH CATAMARANS TO FIT COMPASS
Started back in 1991 and now in their 25th year of full production, Cheetah Marine leads the way in the design and manufacturer of power catamarans in Europe, and beyond. Each designed by Sean Strevens who developed the particular hull after fishing off a surf beach on the Isle of Wight. The design rapidly caught on with other local fisherman who saw the advantages of Sean’s catamaran and they quickly established reputation in the commercial world for excellent stability and rough weather capabilities.
Though unique in the boating world Cheetah catamarans are as susceptible to theft as any other craft – the big difference being that Sean and the team have decided to do something about it. In a deal with COMPASS Scheme distributor Technical Marine Supplies Cheetah have signed up to offer all customers a little peace of mind in the form of a COMPASS Security System fitted to all outboards sold alongside their boats.
Tim Parsons of TMS said ‘We are obviously pleased to be able to sign Cheetah up to the COMPASS Scheme and help support them in ensuring their customers stay crime free. Theft of commercial marine equipment has potentially devastating consequences to victims whose ‘tools’ literally put food on the table of their families and whose loss can be incalculable.’

Cheetah join Suzuki in fitting as standard the COMPASS Scheme and we are confident that 2017 will see many more brands recognise the benefit to their customers of fitting our technologies to deter theft.’
In recognition of Sean’s work in design he was nominated by the Royal Institute of Naval Architects in 2012 and is a member of RINA. Sean continues to design and develop the entire Cheetah range today.
